    Plants can see.  We uproot and lop them, germinate and transplant them, largely as we wish.  It seldom occurs to us, as we pick a burr from our socks or drink another glass of wine, that we are actors in strategies that we initiated not by ourselves but by them, strategies that have been hugely successful in their campaigns to claim ever more living space on earth for their species.     The process.     Artwork by Stephany Latham All growth is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous unpremeditated act without the benefit of experience. - Henry Miller I was finally able to photograph this piece in its natural habitat. It feels good to be back at panama rocks. Once stood a safe place for glaciers to inhabit. I love you old growth.  Cheers to another summer with you.
